Hi! I’m Pinar and I’m a Clinical Psychologist.

I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, having completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University of East London in 2023. I have over ten years’ experience working in a range of NHS services including specialist CAMHS (e.g., neurodevelopmental and Under 5’s team) and adult secondary care psychology services. I currently work part-time in an NHS specialist neurodevelopmental team for adults.

I have experience working with people with mild-to-severe psychological difficulties including early childhood trauma, people with longstanding mood and interpersonal difficulties; adjustment to diagnosis (e.g., HIV, diabetes) and people with sexual health problems (e.g., erectile difficulties, painful vaginal sex). My doctoral thesis focused on improving neuropsychology assessment tests aimed at assessing executive functions in young children.

My doctorate experience provided me with opportunities to utilise a range of therapeutic modalities such as third-wave CBT (i.e., Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), as well as integrating psychodynamic and systemic approaches to my work. As such, I value taking an integrative approach to best meet my client’s needs.

I realise the impact mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties can have on people’s well-being and relationships, and so I am passionate about helping people achieve meaningful change and live more authentic and fulfilled lives. I aim to create a safe and compassionate space to understand each of my clients' situation and see how best I can help them.

What will happen when you meet with me?

The initial sessions will be mostly about understanding your past and present difficulties and the impact they are having on you and other areas of your life (e.g., work, education, relationships). This is to ensure that your treatment best fits with your needs. I take both an explorative and active form of approach to therapy, to help you get the most out of these sessions. I will gently push you to go outside your comfort zone, where necessary. Though it is difficult to know how many sessions each person will benefit from, we will have a mid-therapy review to discuss if you are finding the sessions helpful, and whether we need to do things differently (or do more of the things that are already working well) to get the most of remaining sessions.

What next?

Please get in touch if you would like to meet with me for an initial assessment session and discuss any questions you may have. I would love to be part of your therapeutic journey and help you in the best way that I can.
