Client Testimonials

The therapy I've had with Aika has been transformative. Her expertise, guidance, and genuine care have put me on a stronger footing, moving me in a positive direction and giving me a new perspective on my life. Additionally, the wider Oak Tree Practice team has always been responsive and accommodating to any changes I needed to make with sessions.

We had an extremely positive experience with our psychologist Sam Davies. Our son Max, who is 9 years old, took to him instantly and the two of them quickly built a lovely connection even though our sessions were over Teams. Sam really took his time to understand the family dynamics by also speaking with my husband and me individually, as well as in conjunction with Max. Overall, we felt seen, heard and supported. For now we have stopped our sessions, but we have no hesitation to reach out again in the future.

FAQS

How Do I Know If My Child Needs Counselling?

Every child experiences ups and downs, but sometimes worries, sadness or changes in behaviour can last longer than expected or start affecting daily life. You might notice signs such as persistent anxiety, trouble sleeping, low mood, difficulty managing emotions, struggles at school or challenges in friendships.

If your child has gone through a big change, trauma or is finding it hard to cope with stress, counselling can provide a safe space for them to talk, explore feelings and learn ways to manage. Even if you’re unsure, reaching out early to a trained child therapist can give guidance, reassurance and support tailored to your child’s needs.

What Therapy Techniques Do You Use For Children?

The Little Bee Clinic use a variety of therapy techniques tailored to each child’s needs, including play therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, person-centred therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

These approaches help children express their feelings, build coping skills and work through challenges in a  supportive space. Our therapists choose the right methods to suit your child’s age, personality and individual needs.

My Teenager Does Not Want To Talk To Anyone. Should I Make Them Come?

It’s important that teenagers feel ready to engage in therapy, as forcing them to attend can increase stress and make progress harder. Try gently exploring what worries them about counselling and see if you can address their concerns together. We can offer strategies such as a one-off session or starting with online therapy to help them feel more comfortable before attending face-to-face.

How Much Does A Child Psychologist Cost?

The cost of a child psychologist at The Little Bee Clinic varies depending on the therapist’s experience and the type of session, typically ranging from £80 to £150 per session. Evening appointments after 5pm may include a £30 supplement, and we also offer shorter parent consultations and sessions with play therapists at different rates. Check out our fees page to learn more about all available options and pricing.

How Long Are Child Therapy Sessions?

Child therapy sessions at The Little Bee Clinic typically last 50 minutes, giving your child enough time to explore their thoughts and feelings in a focused space. This applies to children of all ages, from toddlers to teens, with activities and techniques tailored to their developmental stage.

Do You Offer Out Of School Hours?

Yes, we offer therapy sessions outside of regular school hours to fit your family’s schedule. Our appointments are available Monday to Friday from 9am to 9pm, and on weekends from 9am to 5pm, making it easier for children and teens to attend without missing school. This flexible schedule helps ensure therapy can happen at a time that works best for you and your child.

How Many Sessions Should I Book For My Child?

The number of sessions your child may need depends on their individual needs, challenges and goals. Some children benefit from just a few sessions, while others may need ongoing support to build skills and confidence over time. Our therapists can work with you to create a plan tailored to your child, adjusting the length and frequency as they progress.

Do You Provide Online Child Counselling?

Yes, The Little Bee Clinic provides online child counselling through secure video or phone sessions, making it easy for your child to access therapy from home. Our experienced therapists use the same supportive and engaging techniques online as they do in-person, tailored to your child’s age and needs. This option allows families across the UK and worldwide to receive professional care without travel.
