Learn More About Nihad
Background information:
I’m originally from Ghana and moved to the UK when I was seven. My passion for psychology began in high school during my A-levels, where i quickly found myself facinated by the subject.
I went on to complete my undergraduate degree in Applies Psychology at John Moores University. After that, I completed a post-gradauate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the University of Birmingham, and later, my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Liverpool. Along the way, I have had the amazing opportunity to work across a range of community and inpatient settings with children, adolescents, adults and famillies.
My doctoral research examined the role of ethnicity in relation to childbirth experience and post-traumatic stress symptomology.
Meeting Nihad:
Starting therapy can be a big step, and it’s normal to feel nervous or unsure about what to expect. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where we can take things at a pace that feels right for you.
During our sessions, we’ll explore what’s happening for you, and i’ll listen to understand your experiences. Collaboration is key in my approach- I believe in working side by side so that you feel empowered and an active part of our journey together.
Difficulties Nihad helps with:
I work with people facing a variety of challenges, such as low mood/depression, anxiety. PTSD, OCD, stress, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, and long-term health conditions.
Interests outside of psychology:
Outside of psychology, I love hosting and attending games nights, even if i don’t always win. Cooking, travelling, music and having new and fun experiences are some of my other big passions! My perfect weekend often starts with a great pastry and coffee, followed by a walk with good company.
