Hi! I’m Stef and I’m a Clinical Psychologist.

A little bit about me.

As well as working here, I also work in the NHS where I work with children and young people of all ages, from very little babies right up to teenagers. I also support adults who are going through a tricky time. I like to work creatively and think that it is important that as well as talking about the really tough stuff, we also think about the things that you enjoy and your strengths and skills!

What will it be like when we first meet?

I understand that you may feel scared or worried when we first meet which is completely understandable! At first it will be important for us just to get to know each other, I will ask some questions about what has been bothering you and what you would like to be different. The important thing is that you feel able to tell me about how your feeling so that we can try and work through it together.

The types of things I can help with

I have worked with a lot of young people who tell me they feel anxious and have lots of worries. They may find social situations hard or have lots of worries about lots of different things. Some young people explain how they don’t really like that much about themselves and feel that they struggle to be confident. Other young people describe feeling sad or really angry at people a lot of the time. I can help with these and lots of other things that are upsetting you and stopping you doing the things you enjoy. We can talk about who comes to sessions and whether I meet with you, your parents or whether we all meet altogether (or a bit of a mix!).

What I like to do when I’m not working

I love listening to music (and singing badly!) and of course having a Netflix marathon! I enjoy hanging out with friends as well as going to the gym to keep active. In lockdown I also started doing yoga which I found to be really fun!
